About Fairhaven Ventures

A safe harbour for companies, built on patient capital

Fairhaven Ventures is a private holdings, investment and advisory group. We back established companies across the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates and hold them for the long term — the way an owner would, not a fund manager.

Our story

Founded on a simple frustration

Fairhaven Ventures began with a frustration shared by many founders: the capital market is too often built for speed, not for the businesses themselves. Funds with short timers push good companies toward premature exits; financial engineering is dressed up as strategy; and a founder's life's work can be reduced to a spreadsheet in a fifteen-minute pitch.

We built Fairhaven to be the opposite — a permanent-capital home that behaves like an owner. Our name borrows from the old idea of a fair haven: a safe port where a vessel can come in, be looked after, and set out again stronger. That is the role we aim to play for every company we back.

Today the group works across two markets — the United Kingdom, where the firm is rooted, and the United Arab Emirates, where our operating presence continues to grow.

Our philosophy

What we believe about ownership

A handful of convictions shape every decision we make — from the first meeting with a founder to a decade of stewardship after a deal closes.

Time is a competitive advantage

The freedom to wait — to hold through a downturn, to invest behind a slowdown, to avoid a forced sale — is one of the most valuable things a long-term owner can offer. We structure Fairhaven so that freedom is permanent, not a marketing line.

Great businesses are built, not flipped

Value compounds when a management team is given stability, support and a long runway. We measure success in the durability of the companies we own, not in the speed of our exits.

Trust is the real currency

The founders, advisers and managers we work with today are the ones who recommend us tomorrow. We protect that by keeping our word, holding confidences and doing what we said we would.

Simple beats clever

Plain deal terms, honest reporting and clear governance outperform clever structures every time. If a transaction can't be explained on one page, it's probably the wrong transaction.

Our approach in practice

Engaged owners, not absentee landlords

We sit on the boards of the companies we own, support management with shared resources, and stay close to the operational reality of each business. But we never forget who runs the company day to day.

Who you'll work with

A small team of operators and investors

Fairhaven is deliberately compact. The people who assess an opportunity are the same people who serve it for years afterwards — so the relationship and the accountability outlast any single transaction.

Investment

Seasoned investors who source, structure and diligence each opportunity — and who personally own the relationship from first call to close.

Operators

Former founders and executives who have built and run real companies — bringing pattern recognition and practical help, not just spreadsheets.

Advisers

A trusted network of legal, financial and sector advisers across the UK and the Gulf, called on for specific deals — not kept on as overhead.

Group structure

European Technical — our UAE operating company

Our presence in the United Arab Emirates is anchored by European Technical, the group's UAE operating company. European Technical is a licensed Dubai-based home and technical-services business, and it gives Fairhaven genuine, on-the-ground connectivity into the Gulf — not just a brass plaque.

For the companies we back, that means a real bridge between two markets: a UK-rooted investment partner with an operating foothold in one of the world's fastest-growing commercial regions.

  • Operating foothold in Dubai and the wider UAE market.
  • Local networks across services, property and trade.
  • A credible bridge for UK companies expanding into the GCC.
